Most people know that oral care is connected to full-body health, but just how much does it matter?
According to research published in the American Academy of Neurology, a whole lot more than you might think. The study revealed that poor oral health was associated with a 36% higher risk of heart attacks and other cardiovascular events.
“These findings suggest that improving oral health may be an important part of stroke prevention efforts,” shared study author Souvik Sen, MD, MS, MPH, of the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
And while the American Dental Association recommends flossing, using mouthwash and brushing your teeth twice daily for at least two minutes each time you brush, there are even more steps you can take to keep your oral health in top shape. Electric flossers have become an increasingly popular option, seeing that they offer a faster, easier and typically more effective alternative to typical string floss.
One brand in particular has been spurring interest — Flaus. The sleek, handheld flosser, which previously secured a deal on Shark Tank, has also made it onto Oprah’s Favorite Things list and is gaining momentum on social media.
According to the brand, Flaus offers three cleaning modes uses sonic technology to make flossing five-times faster than traditional dental picks and floss strings.

Reviewers rave that it’s gentle, easy to use, surprisingly chic and makes a visible difference in their oral health and daily routine.
“This electric flosser it’s a total game changer,” one reviewer raved. “I can actually floss in seconds now, and it makes reaching those tricky back teeth so much easier. No more awkward angles or giving up halfway through! I also have to mention the sleek, minimal design — it looks so chic on the counter.”
Flaus comes with a portable waterproof electric flosser, 45 gentle gliding floss head refills, a charging base and USB-C charging cable — all wrapped in a beautiful, giftable package.
