Imagoworks, a South Korean startup specializing in AI-based digital dental solutions, has secured 23 billion won (approximately $15.6 million) in Series C funding. The company, led by CEO Kim Young-joon, announced the successful investment on December 31.
The new round of funding is crucial for Imagoworks as it continues to expand its AI-driven dental services and transform the dental industry with innovative digital technologies.
Imagoworks, founded in 2019, offers digital dental services to the industry through its AI-powered solutions. The company offers Dentbird Solutions, a web-based automatic dental prosthesis design platform, leveraging its proprietary 3D CAD and AI technologies. These innovations provide dentists, dental technicians, and other dental professionals with optimized tools for digital treatment, all accessible via Software as a Service (SaaS).
STIC Ventures and K2 Investment Partners led the Series C funding round, with additional investments from TS Investment, the Industrial Bank of Korea, and Taiwan’s Trianchor Capital Group. Existing investors LB Investment and Company K Partners also participated in the round. This brings the total investment in Imagoworks to 38 billion won.
Imagoworks has expanded its global footprint, now serving over 110 countries, including South Korea, Japan, and the United States. The company’s strong presence in Japan is supported by its partnership with Ci Medical, a major player in the dental distribution sector. With a network of around 65,000 dental clinics and laboratories, the adoption of Imagoworks’ AI solutions continues to grow.
The company’s solutions are transforming how dental prostheses are designed and manufactured, making processes more efficient and accurate. As it gains traction globally, Imagoworks plans to further enhance its platform, strengthening its position in the AI-driven dental industry and delivering value to both dental professionals and patients.
In June, Imagoworks took a step in its global expansion by establishing a subsidiary in the United States and acquiring a local dental laboratory. This move aims to enhance the presence of Dentbird Solutions in the North American market, further solidifying the company’s position in the digital dentistry sector. Additionally, Imagoworks launched AOX, an AI-based service for full-mouth restorative prosthetics powered by its advanced AI software technology.
Kim Young-Joon, CEO of Imagoworks, expressed his confidence in the company’s growth, noting that the successful funding round amidst challenging economic conditions reflects the market’s recognition of Imagoworks’ technological innovation and competitive edge. He emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding globally through strategic marketing, sales efforts, and sustainable growth initiatives, aiming to establish Imagoworks as a leading global player in the dental AI industry.
